SPRING STAFFORD MOTORCYCLE SALE BOASTS STRONG RESULTS FOR ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL YEAR
Stafford, UK – On 26-27 April, Bonhams|Cars market-leading Motorcycle Department presented a successful showing at its annual Spring Stafford Sale, held at the renowned International Classic MotorCycle Show, in Staffordshire County Showground, UK. With an incredible breadth of over 250 motorcycles, spanning a century of innovation, the two-day sale, which offered nearly 100 lots Without Reserve, the auction achieved £3,193,000 total. With an industry-leading 96% of lots successfully sold, this sale is one of the highest-grossing UK motorcycle auctions to date, reinforcing Bonhams|Cars as the top choice for collector motorcycles and single-owner collections.
Headliners of this year’s Spring Stafford Sale included the 1925 Brough Superior 981cc SS100, selling for £276,000, and the 1937 Vincent-HRD 998cc Rapide Series-A, achieving £181,700. Additionally, the two-day auction had the pleasure of featuring no less than seven named single-owner collections. Among the notable offerings, The Dale Winfield Collection achieved white glove results, resulting in £501,515. Of the collection’s 47 lots, all offered Without Reserve, the star lot was the ex-Carl Fogarty 1988 Honda VFR750R RC30 Racing motorcycle, achieving £59,800.The second ex-Carl Fogarty 1989 Honda VFR750R RC30 also performed well, realizing £43,700. A major standout rounding out the collection was the Ex-Eddie Kidd, OBE, 1985 Yamaha YZ490 Stunt Bike, quadrupling its estimate and achieving £37,950. The Yamaha is going to be re-united with Eddie who bought it back for his personal collection. Other named collections within this year’s sale also had white glove results, including The Connoisseurs Collection and The Barry Winter Collection.

A AJS 350cc 7R3A Replica Racing Motorcycle sold for £63,250.
A 1930 Montgomery 1,000cc S.V. Twin Model sold for £57,500.
A 1972 Triumph Trident Formula 750 Racing Motorcycle sold for £54,050.
A 1926 Henderson 1,301cc Four De Luxe sold for £53,250.
The Barry Winter Collection, 1936 Brough Superior 982cc SS80 sold for £43,700.
