Roger Harvey is widely regarded as one of Britain’s most respected motocross figures, recognised for both his successful racing career and his long-standing influence in team management, youth development and manufacturer racing programmes. As a professional rider throughout the 1970s and early 1980s, Harvey competed at national and international level, earning a strong reputation in the British Motocross Championship and representing the UK in major events, including contributing to Team GB efforts during the Motocross des Nations era.

Following his retirement from full-time racing, Harvey became one of the most influential behind-the-scenes figures in modern British and European motocross. He worked extensively with Honda, first as Honda UK’s Off-Road Team Manager and later as Honda Europe’s Motocross Racing Manager, overseeing elite-level racing operations and working closely with top Grand Prix riders. His leadership played a key role in shaping Honda’s off-road competition strategy for more than two decades.

Alongside his manufacturer responsibilities, Harvey has been deeply involved in youth and grassroots motocross, helping to nurture and mentor many young riders who later progressed to successful international racing careers. His knowledge, professionalism and dedication to developing talent have earned him immense respect across the motocross community.
