Norton Cache At Netley
The largest motorcycle only autojumble in the south of England, the Carole Nash Netley Marsh Eurojumble, has a treat in store for Norton enthusiasts from across the UK and Europe.
Auctioneers Charterhouse have unearthed a unique cache of Norton motorcycles and spares from two locations which will go under the hammer on Friday, September 1.
“This auction is one of the highlights of the classic motorcycle calendar but this year we have been instructed to sell some amazing Norton motorcycles from two collections, one in Reading and one in Liverpool,” said Charterhouse’s Matthew Whitney.
“We have Norton motorcycles with estimates ranging from just a few hundred pounds for rare spares to £50,000 for a 1951 Norton 596cc Manx/Watsonian sidecar which was raced by the legendary Pip Harris and has been on display at the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu.”
Also in the auction is a collection of Norton motorcycles from a barn and garage in Reading. Included from this deceased estate are a 1929 Norton Model 18, with a rare saddle tank, estimated at £15,000-£20,000, a 1955 Norton International 30M for £10,000-£15,000, a 1950 Norton Manx 30M £20,000-£25,000 and a 1955 Norton Dominator 88 £4,000-£6,000.
In addition, there is a huge array of Norton, Vincent and other motorcycle spares including frames, engines, gearboxes and other parts. For further information contact Matthew Whitney or Nicola Holmes at Charterhouse, The Long Street Salerooms, Sherborne 01935 812277 or email email@example.com
