Nick learnt to ride a motorcycle at the grand age of nine on a Capri 80 scooter that he later upgraded to a Honda C50 on which he began to master the art of off-road riding.

For much of his life Nick worked on a pig farm with his father, which they kept and worked hard on for 17 years up until pig farming went into decline.
However, working on the farm under wide, open spaces gave Nick the chance to further hone his off-roading skills and in 1982 he took up motocross on a Suzuki RM 400. His off-road racing lasted five years in the average clubman rider category and saw him clock up an impressive tally of trophies and awards at Matlock, Hillsborough, Belchford, Goulceby and other circuits. It was at this time that he acquired a number of off-road machines including a Suzuki 465 and a works’ Yamaha YZ490.
After the sale of the pig farm in 1997 Nick used his expertise working on the Mortons-owned publication Wrights Farming Register in the sales and advertising department before moving onto Old Bike Mart.
In 2002 Nick took the helm at classicbikeshows and began a new career expanding the shows and taking them to the next level.
